Between September 18 and October 19 last year, Holly Trevillion executed five separate thefts at a Sainsbury’s branch in Castlepoint, Bournemouth—a store where she was not known. Each time, she moved through the aisles, filling her trolley with groceries, as if she were a staff member fulfilling an online order.
But rather than heading to checkout, she walked straight out of the store, bypassing security without raising suspicion.

“She is a lady of some integrity, and she takes full responsibility for what she did,” he stated, emphasizing that she had confessed to police without hesitation.
Holly Trevillion admitted she chose to wear her old uniform because she believed it would help her avoid detection, allowing her to blend in and deflect attention.
A Light Sentence, But a Heavy Burden
Despite being found guilty, Holly Trevillion’s previously clean record and personal struggles played in her favour. She was handed a two-year conditional discharge, meaning she will avoid prison if she does not re-offend within that period.
She was also ordered to pay:
- £206.28 in compensation to Sainsbury’s
- £111 in court costs and victim surcharge
